The event organized in collaboration with the CH9, CH9 is a leading business accelerator in Bahrain, will go through the main social innovation concepts and practices extended successfully worldwide within the last five years. Dr Atef will present the latest international experience in social innovation and he will reveal the first product developed in Middle East, the Social Innovation Labs (SILs®), providing groundbreaking approach to tackle complex social challenges. The event will also describe the details of the journey of change makers either in business or in ordinary life.
PROFILE OF THE SPEAKER: DR ATEF ELSHABRAWY
With more than 26 years of experience, currently international speaker and member of several worldwide think-tank on entrepreneurship, innovation and M&SME’s Islamic banking. He occupied several senior executive positions in France, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain and Egypt and he elaborated several national SME’s, innovation, social, development and impact investment initiatives in Dubai, Egypt, Bahrain, Libya and KSA. Worked as advisor to Ministry of Labor & Social Development in Bahrain, Co-Founder & ex-CEO of Family Bank (the winner of Mohammed Rashid Al Maktoum’s for “Young Leaders” as the best Bank in the Arab Region in 2013. 2013), and GM in Bahrain Development Bank, as manager in the Social Fund for Development in Egypt, and advisor to Centennial Fund-KSA. Added to above, he had several expert missions within international development organization like: EC, OECD, ISESCO, UNESCO, UNDP, UNFPA, UNIDO, GOIC, ESCWA, GTZ, IFC, TCF, USA- ICNL, SILATECH, etc. Recently, he founded the Social Innovation Expert, a specialized firm in social entrepreneurship and innovation
Dr Atef awarded by several prizes: FB winner of Mohammed Bin Rashid Award “Young Leaders” 2013, the prize of “Young Researchers” in Franc, May 1995, the prize of Bahraini Ministry of Interior’s research Competition on “Community Partnership towards Fighting youth Crime and its impacts”, in 2011. He has a Master from Ecole des Mines de Nancy, France 1992, and PhD from L’INSTITUT NATIONAL POLYTECHNIQUE DE LORRAINE (INPL), France 1996, a Bachelor’s degree from Faculty of Engineering Cairo University – Egypt, 1989, as well as several certificates, several diplomas in finance, strategic management and innovation.
